This Spring/Summer 20’ season has been all about what’s on your head, literally. Pearls have been so popular for the past few years and the trend doesn’t seem to be stopping. From barrettes, to hats and visors, to headbands, to scrunchies – we’ll be covering it all.
I have never been an accessories kind of girl, just because it’s one more thing to worry about and I’m sure you have felt that way too. But let me tell you, if you find the right accessories it can be so easily styled with your everyday outfits to elevate your daily looks. I’m going to share with you 4 accessories that are my favorites and which you definitely need for the summer.
Surprise! The old school barrettes from the 90’s are back on trend. Six months ago when pearl barrettes, specifically, started to trend and every fashion blogger was wearing them, it was impossible to get your hands on them as they were all sold out. I managed to get my hands on them on Amazon for only $5 dollars for 4 pieces (what a steal) but of course I had to wait for 2 months in order to receive them – worth the wait if you ask me. Today, barrettes are easily found at any fashion and accessories store you walk into.
We’ve all seen the trendy Prada headbands all over social media and on our favorite bloggers, but I always love finding more affordable alternatives that don’t compromise the quality. Lele Sadoughi does a very similar style to the famous Prada headbands but this one has a twist – pastel pink with colorful beads all over it; can it get cuter than this. I also got the Swarovski crystals ones for the holiday season.
Scrunchies have been around since Madonna made them a trend in the 80’s, and they’re still going strong. Can you believe it? I’ve always been a fan of scrunchies as they add a playful touch to your boring pony tail. Classic scrunchies are overrated. My go to is the slipslick scrunchies which hold up my hair so tight and add a cute touch to your pony tail.
You need to protect your skin from the sun, right? What better way to do that than with a cute pearl visor from Laurence and Chico – the pearl headband part of it adds a feminine touch and the visor gives it a sporty feel. (Can you tell I’m obsessed with pearls?) This is a perfect piece to style with your linen pants from Oak and Fort and bodysuit from Aritzia for those days you know you’ll be spending in the sun. Or wait, you don’t even need the sun.0
